Brief History: Kalio is an artificial being, not born through natural, biological means, but rather through magical means. The beginning of his creation started a couple years after the princess of the Planeswalkers (a society of beings that basically amount to the universe's police, their duty is to maintain the balance of the universe) was discovered at the young age of 22. As the creation of an artificial being was a process that involved years, he did not truly begin to live until the completion of his development, ten years later. The development process transferred all of his creator's powers to him, allowing him to effectively become a perfect substitute for him. That was in fact Kalio's sole purpose, to be the replacement of Miet Rhonok Kain, the Time Keeper. Kalio was gifted with the ability to completely manipulate time to his every whim as well as the ability to see into the future. However, he did not have the ability to control his powers properly, so for the first five years after his creation, Miet trained him to wield these time manipulation abilities properly. At the end of those five years, he created a locket for Miet, which allowed the elder to limit and borrow the time manipulation abilities he had given to Kalio.
At the end of those five years of training, Miet had deemed that his control was good enough, so Kalio was finally allowed to explore the universe alongside his "twin brother". For five more years, he traveled from world to world with Miet, learning about the universe that seemed so familiar to him, yet so new at the same time. During those five years, he separated from Miet for a while, and encountered the princess of the Planeswalkers, Shinju. He traveled with her for a couple of months before he was forced to part with her and return to Miet's location, a rather average world that had no potential for magic.
